Stephen Sundquist is born and raised in Tampa, FL.
He has been in recovery since 2017.
Since 2019, he has helped bring healing to individuals, families, along with organizations benefiting from his skills and understanding in the areas of addiction, mental health, family systems and recovery.
Stephen started AS1NTERVENTIONS, because of his love for working with families, equipping them with the tools to become a healthy family unit, based on his own personal experience in active addiction with the destruction caused in his own family.
His approach comes from a place of love, compassion and understanding with the goal of building rapport with the family and your loved one, from the second he meets them. Stephen has used his intuition and skill of connection to help the entire family heal together.
Stephen’s favorite part about being an interventionist, is working closely with the family and understanding the family system as a whole and addressing the loved one. It’s in that process of discovery that we’re able to formulate an appropriate treatment plan that is tailored to the loved ones needs. When an entire family comes together, to present an opportunity for their loved one to say “Yes”. There’s no greater feeling than witnessing someone accept the help that they desperately deserve.
Stephen often says “I’ve been blessed to be able to turn my pain into my purpose”.
He believes that everyone deserves to live a life of purpose, free from the chains of addiction or mental health challenges.
Alton was born in Pontiac, Michigan. Most of his life he resided in Florida, except for stints in Buenos Aires, Argentina (for treatment) and Berlin, Germany (to play American Football). Alton is in long-term recovery from his drug addiction. This year he reached the 11-year milestone. His recovery has become the foundation and compass for his life.
Alton’s rise, fall, and redemption was always centered around his identify. Football was his passion and purpose. It defined his existence. With much success in high school, he earned a Division-1 scholarship to play Quarterback at the University of South Florida. It was during that time that he was introduced to prescription pills to treat my physical and emotional pain. His addiction to pills robbed him of the future dream of playing in the NFL. After his freshman season, he quit the team and football. Without any direction or purpose he wrestled with his addiction for the next four subsequent years. After numerous failed attempts of trying to reestablish himself and lead a life free from drugs, he was finally given an opportunity to enter into treatment for the first time in his life. Alton attributes his success to a few factors; having an opportunity for treatment, willingness for change, support system, and the length of time in treatment.
With a second chance at life, Alton has become the author of his own story. The chapters have consisted of healing, balance, healthy relationships, service, and pursuits of fulfillment.
His mission is to heal more lives and restore families.
